Diagnosis and classification of mood disorders

Robert Kendell was Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK. He was also at various times Dean of the Edinburgh Medical School, President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Chief Medical Officer for Scotland.

Abstract 

This contribution covers contemporary classifications of mood disorders, the problem of boundaries between the different syndromes, the shortcomings of ICD-10 and DSM-IV and the diagnosis of mood disorders.
