He then trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital, London. He is a liaison psychiatrist with clinical and research interests in palliative care and occupational medicine.

He trained in medicine at Cambridge University and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, and in psychiatry at King's College Hospital, London, UK. His main areas of research and clinical interest include patients with persistent medically unexplained physical symptoms and patients with fabricated illnesses.
